Code of Conduct

Academy Rules

The standards we hold ourselves to. Please read before your first class.

01

Arrive On Time. Ready to Train.

Show up before class starts. Wear a clean uniform appropriate for the discipline. Hygiene is a sign of respect for your training partners and the mat.

02

Class Begins With Lineup & Bow.

Every class starts with a formal rank lineup and a bow. This is how we open the mat and acknowledge the lineage every student is now part of.

03

Address the Head Black Belt as "Professor."

Respect for the head instructor is foundational. In class, the head black belt is addressed as Professor. This applies to children and adults alike.

04

Tap Early. Tap Often.

Your safety and your training partner's safety always come before pride. Tapping is part of training, not a failure. Tap early, tap often, and let the technique work.

05

Shake Hands Before & After Each Sparring Session.

Every roll, every spar, every drill. We start and end with a handshake. It's not a formality , it's how we build a culture where everyone feels safe pushing themselves.

06

Keep a Respectful Posture in the Academy at All Times.

How you carry yourself sets the tone for everyone around you. Stand respectfully. Speak respectfully. Train respectfully.

07

Keep Mat Conversation Minimal & On Topic.

Talking on the mat should be kept to a minimum and should relate to the class material. Save the side conversations for the lobby , the mat is for training.

08

No Foul Language.

Kids train alongside adults at the Center. Language stays clean , on the mat and in the lobby.

09

Change Clothes in the Locker Rooms , Not in the Lobby.

The lobby is a family space and a community space. All changing happens in the restrooms or locker rooms.

10

Store Personal Items in the Locker Rooms.

Gym bags, footwear, and personal items belong in the locker rooms during class , not on the mat or in the lobby.

11

Keep the Locker Rooms & Restrooms Clean.

Leave the space the way you'd want to find it. A clean facility is a sign of respect for every member who uses it after you.

12

No Coaching from Outside the Mat.

Parents, students, and visitors are not permitted to coach from the lobby or the side of the mat. Coaching is the coaches' job , let them do it.

13

Bring Issues Directly to Professor Kevin.

If something needs to be addressed , about a class, a coach, another member, or anything else , bring it directly to Professor Kevin. We handle issues in person, respectfully, and quickly.

These rules exist for one reason: to keep the Center the kind of place where every member , kids, parents, beginners, competitors , feels safe, respected, and able to train at their best.

Ready To Step On The Mat?

A private one-on-one trial is the right way to start. Walk through the Center, meet a coach, and learn the standards firsthand.
